HolyGWT.com is an example of JavaScript and JQuery at work. In essence we were asked to create a site that was stuffed with as much JavaScript as we could without overdoing it (if such a thing is possible). Its features involve a live chat, working tabs, a sliding-in login field, a sortable table and a slideshow. There is also a story behind its conception that is most likely only entertaining to those who were present at that time, but it can't hurt to give it a read.

After being randomly partnered and discovering that none of us were originally from Vancouver, my group and I decided to create a beginner's guide to Vancouver. We cover everything from accommodations to restaurants to the hippest (or lamest) clubs to outdoor attractions to public transit. There is a search feature, sortable tables for alphabetization and ratings, a slideshow and add/edit forms for the administrators (AKA us).

This is the PHP/MySQL blog project from our third (or fourth) term. Mine was originally titled Rough Around the Edges, but now exists as From the Fingers of a Basement Dweller and has a completely different look. When logged in, I can add new posts and edit or delete old ones. Other users can view all of my posts and may leave comments, if they are so inclined.

RecordJackets is an online community created with the purpose of helping independent musicians connect with other musicians and with the general public. Musicians can share their music, and all users can create their own unique playlists from the songs posted on the site. Band members can sign up and create a joint profile for their band that connects to each of their personal profiles, assisting visitors in getting acquainted with the band members. On top of that, members have a small selection of themed skins to choose from, to give them a sense of individuality.
